The Turretin Project is translating Francis Turretin’s sermons into English for the first time. Turretin is renowned for his Institutes of Elenctic Theology, but his sermons are relatively unknown today. This has been a significant loss for the modern Church because Turretin was an unusually gifted and powerful preacher. His sermons reveal a man with a profound love for God and his congregation and a deep understanding of Scripture. The first volume, Sermons sur divers passages de l’Ecriture Sainte, initially published in Geneva in 1676, includes ten sermons, and the translation is nearly complete. The sermons in this volume will be cross-referenced to Turretin’s Institutes of Elenctic Theology, making it particularly useful to those desiring to compare his work in the Academy with the theology of his pulpit. Volume 1: Sermons on Various Texts of Holy Scripture by Francis Turretin will be submitted for publication in 2025.
